Ladder safety February 1st 2008 The aim of the Ladder Association
in 2008 is clear-cut. It is to make
sure that anyone using ladders and
stepladders to work at height has
the knowledge and experience
necessary to complete the relevant
task safely.
Directed principally at operatives
and duty holders in the building,
cleaning and facilities management
sectors, the drive will promote
competence under the Work at
Height Regulations and make clear
the connection between
competency and training.
The Ladder Association website
has details of approved training
centres throughout the UK that will
deliver the industry standard
Ladder Association training course.
Delegates learn how to: select
the right equipment based on risk
assessment; make sure the work is
properly planned and organised;
use the right type and classification
of ladder; ensure it is properly
maintained; and set up a ladder or
stepladder safely. More articles from British Ladder Manufacturers Association: |
