Urilift gains water regulation approval July 1st 2005 The Urilift, the world’s only retractable public urinal, has gained official certification approval from the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS). This means that any water company in the UK can connect a Urilift to the mains water supply without the need for any formal inspection.
WRAS enforces the Water Supply Regulations, which are national requirements for the design, installation and maintenance of all waterusing appliances. Their purpose is to prevent misuse, waste, undue consumption and, most importantly, the contamination of drinking water. They replace the former Water Supply Byelaws, which each water supplier has administered for similar purposes for many years.
Urilifts, for which Heathmatic has exclusive UK distribution rights, are installed in town/city centre areas, including Durham, Reading and Westminster in central London, with further units due for installation in Belfast later this year.
Healthmatic Operations Director Andy Davies said: “ We’ve invested significant time and resources into gaining this official recognition, which we believe will make future Urilift installations much easier, and less costly, for our customers.” |
