Employees are the greatest asset
June 1st 2010

MITIE has continued its strong performance with revenues increasing by 13% to £1,720.1m and an order book up by £1.5bn for the year ending March 2010.

As one of the UK’s largest private sector employers, MITIE’s annual report for 2010 highlights its success over the last year and its continued growth over the last 22 years.

“MITIE is in an exciting position. We are a business with tremendous capability that is able to provide clients with the widest range of solutions to help them meet their strategic business and property management needs,” says Ruby McGregor-Smith, CEO of MITIE. “Our employees are our greatest asset and over the year we have continued to invest in training and apprenticeships.Despite difficult economic conditions our workforce has risen over the year by 5,093 to 56,579 and we also employ the largest number of trade apprentices in the UK.”

In addition, this year has seen MITIE announce its first graduate recruitment programme designed to identify the future leaders of the business and fast-track them into management across the company.

Over the coming year MITIE will continue to aim for sustainable and profitable growth across its four divisions: Facilities management, Technical facilities management, Property management and Asset management, as it looks to continue its 22 year success story.
