February 1st 2009

The Access Industry Forum (AIF) will again be hosting Access Live, the Access Village and the Work at Height Seminar Theatre at the 2009 Safety & Health Expo event, 12–14 May at the NEC, Birmingham. The umbrella organisation represents the principal trade bodies and associations engaged in working at height. AIF will use actors to perform a range of scenarios to reinforce the Health and Safety Executive’s ‘Shattered Lives’campaign.

Using mobile elevating work platforms, scaffolding, mobile access towers and ladders, the forum will take as its theme ‘Act now before it’s too late’ as a call to action to combat the risks of a fall from height.

The Work at Height Seminar Theatre has different topics and speakers.Visitors can choose the topics of immediate interest in their everyday work and benefit from expert advice.“Our aim is to provide practical knowledge and information that can be readily applied in the workplace to address the most important questions facing the industry,” explains Peter Bennett for the Forum.“It is rare for so many experts to be gathered together in one place which is why the theatre is so popular.”

Seminars are free and a full programme will be announced early in 2009. Forum members will again provide practical guidance from their stands in the Access Industry Village.Mobile elevating work platforms will be represented by IPAF, scaffolding by NASC, mobile access towers by PASMA and ladders and stepladders by the Ladder Association.
