Successful conference
August 1st 2004

More than 120 professionals involved in the challenge of graffiti removal attended a recent conference called Setting New Standards for Graffiti Removal at the RFU Twickenham Stadium. The event was hosted by national graffiti removal company NO Graffiti and was opened by Sir Bernard Ingham with a stirring view on the impact of graffiti on society. Speakers included David Priestman, chair of the stone cleaning and repair committee of the Stone Federation of Great Britain, Nicola Ashurst, consultant to English Heritage, Maggie Beecher, head of traincare with South West Trains and Thorbjorn Bengtsson, md of Swedish manufacturer Trion Tensid AB. Richard Edwards, md of NO graffiti provided an insight into the five different processes used by his company to ensure that graffiti is removed safely and effectively from almost every surface. The main conclusions drawn from the conference were that it is essential that graffiti removal techniques are matched to substrate and that specialist removal technicians should always be used.
