Hot water hand unit going strong
April 1st 2010 Hand hygiene specialist TEAL is
celebrating the success of its
portable Hygienius hot water
hand wash unit which is
providing an 'instant ablution
solution' in over 80 hospitals all
over the UK.
Since launching the product
two years ago, the company says
more and more Acute and
Primary Care Trusts have invested
in the equipment which has a
variety of applications within a
medical environment.
The units are being used:
to supplement existing hand
washing facilities on wards
to provide emergency back up
for outbreaks of swine flu and
other super bugs
to give hospital visitors a high
visibility place to wash their
hands
as a training aid for infection
control nurses.
The Prowash and Hygienius
models require no fixed
plumbing, are operational within
minutes and don't have the
potential pitfalls associated with
Legionella that can come with
conventional sinks and pipe
