From powered brooms to spray extraction systems, Kärcher UK says it can help customers pick the right tool for the job Kärcher UK's carpet cleaning equipment ranges from upright vacuum cleaners for small office or retail environments through a series of cylinder vacuum cleaners to large wet and dry vacuum cleaners which cope with liquid spillages as well as dirt and dust.

Upright vacuum cleaners

The EB30 is a powered broom that makes light work of dust and dirt and which, because it is battery-powered, takes very little effort to use.

It is also extremely quiet, enabling it to be used throughout the day to clean up localised dirt. And it is robust enough to be suitable as the sole cleaning machine for smaller areas. For larger premises the compact nature of the EB30 means it fits neatly on to a typical janitor's trolley.

For larger areas, the CV36/2 and 46/2 are popular choices. These have two motors; one for beating the carpet and the second for lifting the pile and vacuuming the dirt. Both are designed with a lay-flat feature, meaning they can clean easily underneath furniture such as seating and other fixtures.

Cylinder vacuum cleaners

Kärcher has four cylinder vacuum cleaners in its range. The latest addition is the new T7/1 vacuum cleaner. This seven litre, one turbine tub vacuum cleaner is the new sister cleaner to the larger T12/1 and has been designed to operate in smaller areas. With the same robust design as the T12/1, the T7/1 features an ergonomic design with a simple, yet rugged, on/off foot switch and a lightweight hose for effortless use. Both the T7/1 and T12/1 can be specified with a Hepa filter to trap allergenic particles. A new T10/1 has just been launched to complete the line-up of new tub vacuum cleaners.

Longer, 12 metre cables are now fitted, as are hooks for temporary cable storage or a cable wind-round moulding on the tub. There is also an easy-to-use clip for floor tool stowage during work breaks.

When especially quiet operation is a requirement, Kärcher's T 201 is an appropriate choice. It produces only 59 decibels – handy for noisesensitive areas like restaurants, hospitals and hotels.

Wet and dry vacuum cleaners

Applications requiring both wet and dry vacuum cleaning, such as carpeted areas in cinemas and canteens, are catered for with a selection of eight Kärcher wet and dry vacuums. These range from a robust entry level model – the NT27/1 – to models such as the NT 65/2 and NT 602 Eco designed for picking up large quantities of dirt.

All models feature Kärcher's familiar ergonomic design and are engineered to deliver quality cleaning. The wet & dry vacuum cleaners feature practical accessory holders for the power cable, suction tubes and crevice tool, and automatically shut down when the maximum fluid level is reached. A patented Power Filter Clean on the NT65/2 and NT602 Eco mounts the filter high up, out of reach of the water. This ensures long periods of operation with constant suction power and without the need for the operative to stop to clean the filter.

Spray-extraction cleaners

Cleaning professionals looking for spray-extraction equipment have a choice of seven machines from Kärcher. All use the same cleaning principle; water and detergent are sprayed on to the carpet and picked up again immediately by the vacuum nozzle. Dirt is dissolved and removed in a single pass and the low residual moisture content ensures carpets dry quickly for long-lasting cleanliness.

Kärcher's range includes lightweight spray-extraction machines, such as the popular Puzzi 100 Super and 300 S, suitable for cleaning stair and car carpets, as well as larger machines for more heavyweight applications. All models have an easy-to-empty dirty water tank and an attachment can be added to some models to allow continuous usage via the mains water supply and drain.
