Three cheers for floorcare

A trio of Nilfisk-Alto machines are being used by an independent drinks wholesaler to clean its new depot

Waverley TBS is using a heavy duty Floortec R580B ride-on sweeper for general interior cleaning, and has a Scrubtec 343B walk-behind scrubber dryer to clean up indoor spillages or leaks. Permanently fixed outdoors is a Truck Booster 5-49D stationary pressure washer to ensure that delivery runs start with clean lorries.

The Truck Booster 5-49D is a rugged 400V unit designed for heavy outdoor use on transport fleets. Its EcoPower boiler produces hot water at 90ºC, with an additional steam stage at 140ºC for handling the toughest road dirt. Its Silent Power 1,450 rpm pump with four ceramic pistons delivers up to 970 litres an hour at 180bar for high efficiency cleaning. It has a 33 litre diesel tank for boiler fuel and two 25 litre detergent tanks.The stainless steel design protects against corrosion. Internal frost protection is provided down to –20ºC.

The Floortec R580B is a 24V battery powered ride-on sweeper which cleans an 800mm path – or 1,050mm when two side brooms are fitted – giving it a total capability of 4,200m2 per hour. It is highly manoeuvrable, and can turn round in an aisle width of 1,690mm. It has a generous 130 litre hopper, with variable dumping heights up to 1,500mm. It has a horizontal filter of 7m2 to capture dust,with electric filter shaking to prevent clogging.

The compact battery powered Scrubtec 343B scrubs and dries up to 1,720m2 per hour with a cleaning width of 430mm.

It has a 730mm break-away squeegee to ensure a dry finish.

Solution and recovery tanks each hold 29 litres.
