Foam activated scrubber-dryers
May 1st 2005

One of the most extensive ranges of automatic scrubber-dryers in the UK is now available from one source after the product rationalisation that followed the successful merger early last year of Tennant Company and Walter-Broadley Machines

All machines in the range, which includes both walk-behind and rider models, are supported by a nation-wide service organisation, now 60 field engineers strong and claimed to be unrivalled in the industry.

Tennant models also feature FaST, the Tennant-exclusive foamactivated scrubbing technology, which extends the scrubbing time of the machines by up to 400% compared to those without the technology, thus shortening the completion time of jobs and freeing operator time for other tasks. Tennant’s patented foamactivated scrubbing technology, which increases the productivity of the machines while also slashing water and detergent use and reducing costs.

The FaST system creates a self-collapsing cleaning foam that ensures activation of a higher detergent percentage. By the time the foam is recovered by the scrubber-dryer, it has returned completely to its liquid state, leaving the floors cleaner and, because less water has been used, also dryer.

Machines fitted with FaST can be used as a conventional scrubber-dryer, for example to clear-water rinse a floor after stripping, simply by turning off the FaST system.

One machine from the small rider scrubber-dryer sector is the battery-powered Tennant 7200, a compact, highly productive and manoeuvrable machine. Available with either disc or cylindrical brush scrubbing systems, different battery packages and a variety of other options to suit specific cleaning requirements, the Tennant 7200 has fast cleaning speed, long run-time, ease of use and huge capacity.

One-button scrubbing and simple controls mean that almost anyone can operate the Tennant 7200. A roomy operator compartment and low-effort steering ensure operator comfort.

Operators also appreciate easy tank cleanout and extension hoses that allow them to empty tanks where they want to.

The Tennant 7200 lays down solution and thoroughly cleans tile, terrazzo or smooth concrete floors. Brush pressure is maintained electronically, even on irregular surfaces, while a powerful vacuum and squeegee system gives superior water pick-up on smooth surfaces, over cracks and even around sharp turns.

One of the Tennant mid-size scrubber-dryers is the rider Tennant 7400, an LPG or diesel-powered machine with a working width of 145cm. It offers exceptional cleaning together with ease of use and maintenance and a robust, built-to-last construction.

Two high-speed cylindrical brushes provide aggressive scrubbing along with dust-free debris pick up. Down pressure remains constant even as the brushes wear or surfaces change.

An extremely manoeuvrable machine able to turn within its own perimeter, the Tennant 7400 is also highly productive, sweeping light debris and scrubbing aggressively at a rate of 6500 square metres per hour.
