Battery burnisher offers 2 hours of continual operating time August 1st 2005 The FSX Freestyle, a battery operated burnisher, has been introduced to the range of Victor cleaning machines. It offers two hours of continual operating time and an onboard battery charger and lead that allows the operative to recharge the battery by plugging straight into the nearest electrical socket.
With a recharge time of only six hours, the machine uses high technology gel batteries to ensure no leakage and complete safety for the user. This also allows the machine to be tilted onto its large rear wheels for transportation or to change the cleaning pad.
The FSX also has an easy to read battery charge level indicator so that the operative knows how much power the battery has to use and when it needs to be charged. This will aid operatives in planning their cleaning schedule, ensuring the machine has enough power to complete each task.
Aesthetically, the FSX is a major step forward when compared to most other cleaning machines used in similar areas. This machine is the first to be released as part of Victor’s modernisation programme, an exciting development for Victor manufacturers Dowding & Plummer.
Tony Dowding, managing director, explains: “With more areas in use 24 hours a day, seven days a week such as hospitals, retail environments and so on, the need for round the clock cleaning has increased and machines that offer safe cleaning without trailing power leads is vital. With this in mind, cleaning managers and clients alike are now much more aware of how a machine looks aesthetically and its appearance is viewed as critical. Other battery operated machines of this type lack the design and styling that makes the FSX stand out. The overall appearance, name of the machine and branding has all been composed to make a statement about what the machine has to offer. The name ‘freestyle’ expresses the freedom to move without the restrictions of time or cables.
“To date, battery technology has not been at a stage where we could offer a compelling proposition that would meet the high standards required in the composition of the Victor product range. The introduction of gel batteries has allowed us to offer a machine that will perform and deliver an effective cleaning solution that is unrivalled. With its sleek exterior, a low noise level of 60 DBA and the amazing ease of use, the FSX is a dynamic machine that will exceed customer expectation.” All the necessary leads and equipment are stored on board to keep the machine compact.
Operating at 1500rpm, the FSX has a 17 inch drive board that articulates the contours of the floor to give an improved and more reliable performance, while the fold down handle allows easy storage.
The FSX has an isolation key that disables the machine to prevent the machine being tampered with or used by untrained operatives.
Each battery lasts between twelve and 24 months, depending on the usage and servicing programmes deployed. With a competitive list price of £1625, inclusive of batteries and on-board battery charger, the FSX offers advantages for both the operative and purchaser.
