Neutral carpet and fabric cleaner
June 1st 2007 Clover Chemicals has relaunched Orbit carpet
cleaner after carrying out a major reformulation of
the product. After intensive R&D, the new Orbit, for
use in spray extraction machines, is now effectively a
completely new product that has produced
excellent results in testing and has
clear benefits for the user.
With a pH of 7 – 7.5, Orbit is a
neutral product which can be
used safely on any water
washable fabric. It can therefore
clean carpets and rugs with a
high wool content, for which an
alkali cleaner would be too
aggressive.
To ensure trouble-free use in
extraction machines, Orbit has
been formulated to be completely
non-foaming. This means that, when using Orbit, there
is no danger of problems being caused by an
accumulation of foam in the machine's collection tank.
When reformulating Orbit,work was also done by
Clover's chemists to ensure that the product does not
separate at any temperature. This makes it machinefriendly,
as there is no risk of the product forming
deposits which may block tubes or spray nozzles.
In Clover's testing, Orbit produced excellent
cleaning results when used with
both hot and cold water. It is also
very effective in pre-treating more
heavily soiled areas of the carpet
– simply spray directly onto the
area to help penetrate the dirt
before passing the machine over
the whole carpet.
Orbit is a non hazardous, non
irritant product with a formula
that is now free from enzymes,
phosphates and optical
brighteners. It is highly
recommended for use in
establishments such as care homes or schools,
where many different carpets may need to be
cleaned and where product safety is of great
