Power to the cleaning people
August 1st 2007

With retail and office cleaning operations constantly under pressure, squeezed in between opening hours, downtime is the enemy. Keeping equipment batteries in primed is therefore a vital component. For £55,Powercell says is has the answer

For many operations working round the clock, such as large retail stores, cleaning has to be fitted in around normal operations so the challenge is even greater. In such cases cleaning machines must, therefore, be reliable and ready for action when required because any downtime they experience will affect the smooth functioning of the facility.

Ensuring that battery powered cleaning machines such as sweepers, scrubber driers or floor polishers are correctly charged in a quick, safe and simple process to reduce downtime is therefore a vital component in achieving a smooth running operation.

Powercell Industrial Battery Engineers has launched a new system that will allow faster battery topping up while avoiding the problems of spillage and over topping.

The Flexi-topper is a watering system that can attach directly to a Battery Filling System (BFS) via a quick release coupling. This allows the battery to be topped up to the correct level automatically, thus avoiding the risk of either over-topping or spillage. By using the battery filling system a user can reduce corrosion by not only ensuring precise electrolyte levels but also providing the correct gasair exchange. Each cell indicates when it is full and shuts off with a white float indicating that the process has finished.

Ideal for operations using 1 to 5 batteries, which makes it particularly suited to operations using a single or small number of cleaning machines, the cost effective Flexi-topper provides a health and safety benefit too by eliminating the risk of the operative coming into contact with electrolyte because it allows batteries to be topped up from a single point quickly and efficiently.

Operations without a BFS can also use the Flexi-topper to top up batteries, as the system eliminates the need for a jug and funnel, making the whole process of topping up batteries faster, safer and simpler.

Priced at £85, this low cost solution means companies need not invest some £500 in an electric trolley. To celebrate the launch of this innovative new product, Powercell is offering a special introductory price of £55.25 for purchases of the Flexi-topper until 30th September.
