Rainbow's flood tips online October 1st 2006 With forecasters predicting the UK's highest tides in 20 years over the Autumn, Rainbow International has put its 1000- strong national network on red alert for a possible claims surge – particularly if tides combine with stormy weather.
The company has set up links with environmental agencies to anticipate when and where flooding will hit and commissioned additional office space in areas most likely to be hit, to serve as emergency response centres if needed.
At the time of going to press (early October), a company spokeswoman was unable to say whether demand had surged.But judging by the deluge of the last few weeks, it seems likely.
