Helping to minimise business interruptions
January 1st 2006

The Revival Company doubled its business in the last 2 years. Making inroads into most sectors of the restoration market the nationwide company is focused on the customer service it offers

The company has built this successful business with franchise partners, many with a background in the cleaning industry.

Graham Orriss, managing director comments, "the exceptional high service offered by The Revival Company to its customers stems from the high quality of training and support within our network, this comes from experience gained over 25 years".

The knowledge of its operators is crucial owing to the diversity of work, in Commercial claims they help organisations minimise business Interruption issues. For example, when they were called to a Manufacturing facility belonging to a specialist Engineering Company that supplied lithium battery power units to the drilling industry.

An unstable battery unit exploded causing a chain reaction in the storages area resulting in a life threatening situation.

The plant was evacuated and The Revival Company were called in to draw up a method statement and competitive estimate to remediate the damage.

The main difficulty was caused by extensive lithium deposits throughout the building rendering water an inappropriate medium for cleaning down the plant due to highly toxic gases being produced when water comes into contact with lithium.

Working closely with forensic chemists on site The Revival Company was able to produce an appropriately alkaline solution to carry out cleaning of sophisticated manufacturing equipment and building fabric and contents without endangering any personnel.

Thanks to the speedy and efficient manner in which the restoration process was carried out the plant suffered minimal Business Interruption and was able to meet all order commitments.

Being able to adapt skills but maintain high quality is crucial to the success of The Revival Company branches; traditionally work has come from the High Net Worth (HNW) sector of the market which calls for an exceptionally high level of service to the insured and insurance company. For example a client had a fire in her £4m house. The whole house was decorated with very expensive fabric wall and ceiling coverings. Unfortunately the top two floors of the mansion were severely smoke damaged. It was initially thought that each room would have to be fully redecorated at a huge cost but after testing the operatives worked on a process to successfully remove the layer of soot and contaminant from the fabric as well as the odour.

The Revival Company was able to avoid hotel bills by cleaning down the owners daughters' bedrooms first. The policyholder and her family stayed resident in the house throughout the repairs and even requested vanity sheets so they were not disturbed by the restorers at work. This allowed for the affected areas of the property and contents to be fully restored.
