The floods hit after Morley Tool Hire had only been trading a month.

An independent hire company specialising in hiring industrial cleaning and environmental equipment nationwide, the company opened its doors on 1 June 2007, with little notion of how busy it would soon be.

Major retail stores in Meadowhall and Chesterfield, Sheffield College and numerous industrial and domestic premises kept staff busy helping to enable the massive, ongoing clean up, using specialist knowledge to advise customers on the best piece of equipment for the job in hand, plus safety and environmental information.

"Like many hire companies, MTH struggled to provide the volume of hire equipment needed in the Derbyshire and South Yorkshire areas," says director Peter Morley."Thankfully our own premises were safe from flood damage which meant staff did everything they could to help those who weren't so lucky."
