Friendly microbes cut the grease

Spectrum was approached by a maintenance provider working on behalf of the O2 arena, regarding a product to prevent blockages in sewer lines that might interfere with the proper operation of sewage treatment works into Thames Water.

After a trial, it's claimed the product proved to be 20 times more effective than the current providers, so the incumbent maintenance provider decided to use Spectrum's services.

"We were delighted to get this prestigious contract," says Jo Thompson, MD of Spectrum, "the O2 has 47 drain outlets connected to eateries within the Arena.

Removal of fats, oils and grease from wastewater is critically important.

"The product is a blend of friendly non-toxic microbes, nutrients and preservatives. It works by releasing a continuous and renewable supply of highly active enzymes into the water flow to prevent build up."
