Two explosion-proof vacuum units from Nederman are suitable for use in areas where there is a high risk of atmospheric flammable gas or a need to handle explosive dust.

The pneumatically powered P221EX and P252EX are atex approved and can be used to recover all classes of dust or granular material. Neither has any moving components and both are built using conductive materials to eliminate the possibility of static build-up. Maintenance requirements are low.

The vacuum effect is produced using an ejector-type system. This uses the pressure drop experienced as a stream of air passes through a venturi to provide suction. A vacuum of -21kPa is generated on the P221EX and -52kPa on the P252EX. Air consumption is 1 and 3Nm3/min respectively at 6-7bar supply pressure.
