Reliable compressed air August 1st 2007 The Dorchester hotel in London is recognised around the world for its service, quality and attention to detail. Compressed air is an integral part of the laundry process, so when the hotel outgrew its current system it invested in new machines from Hydrovane. Compressed air is used as part of the laundry's stain removal process known as 'spotting' when air from the compressor is combined with cleaning chemicals and sprayed onto stains by hand, before going through the standard wash and dry cycles. The Dorchester's laundry runs 24 hours a day, with the compressors operating on a constant stop/start cycle when air is demanded, so reliability is essential. James Hazell, maintenance manager at The Dorchester, recalls: "It is vital that items are not only cleaned to the highest quality but returned promptly to guests. Reliability for 24 hours a day is vital as we simply can't afford to lose time through breakdowns. Our previous Hydrovane machines operated reliably for over 10 years, so as the laundry grew and we realised we needed to upgrade our compressor system, Hydrovane was our first choice." Hydrovane distributor, Economatics, installed two receiver-mounted HV04RM compressors. The compressors provide clean, dependable, highquality air at low noise levels and are completely vibration free. The Hydrovane ranges are also efficient, which means users benefit from reduced energy costs. |
