Mobile access platform August 1st 2004 The Mobi-Platform is an operator propelled work platform constructed in high strength aluminium material newly introduced into the UK by Birch Engineering (Cuffley). Designed to allow one operator to carry out overhead tasks safely, this unit does not require battery or electrical input. The drive is achieved by the operator instigating a pumping action of a foot pedal, which can be adjusted to suit the required height. A secure handbrake system and support stabilisers are activated when in place.
Braking can be achieved independently of the handbrake, while the steering operation is obtained via the two front wheels. A steering handle can change the direction of the drive wheel through 360 and can be locked in a straight position
It can be assembled by one person in 3 to 4 minutes and transported in a knockdown position on a roof rack or in a van. Currently there are four models available, covering a work platform height from 600mm to over 2m in incremental stages. This facilitates carrying out tasks up to a height of 4.5m. All models have a maximum capacity of 200kg. |
