August 1st 2007 Interserve Facilities Management, one of Citroën UK's largest commercial vehicle customers with some 900 vehicles, has just placed its first order for 20 Berlingo Dual Fuel vans as part of a push to imporve its environmental performance, while reducing operational costs. The Nicholson McLaren Engines converted Berlingo 600 LX 1.4i Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG) vcans offer emissions reductions of 180% in nitrogen oxide and 50% in carbon monoxide, as well as a 24% reduction in carbon dioxide.They Yorkshire-based Disposables UK Group are exhibiting at the Health & Safety 07 Show for the first time. The Bay West range will be the highlight on the stand. The range of toilet tissue, hand towel and soap dispensing systems have been designed for any washroom environment and offer an end to wastage, over-use, abuse, pilferage and run-out. Green issues such as reducing wastage and saving on costs needn't be boring,inconvenient or unattractive:Bay West dispensers are a solution that impresses. Many of the dispensers in the range deliver a pre-measured amount of paper reducing consumption,lowering costs and reducing waste. The high capacity dispensers go longer between refills saving costly maintenance time as well as helping to eliminate run-out. Made of ABS plastic, the dispensers are sturdy and durable to withstand any washroom environment as well as having a modern appearance. Disposing of used glass bottles has always been an expensive and irksome problem for licensed retail establishments (LRE). Smash & Grab Glass Recycling approached this problem by tackling glass waste where it is created. It has a solution that makes the waste problem for LREs 80% smaller and collects the glass for recycling. Smash & Grab has developed a compact glass bottle smashing machine called the Little Smasher. It is designed to be installed alongside crates or bins in LREs and is easily operated by trained staff. The Little Smasher is a space saving device that reduces vehicle movements and, as a result, harmful greenhouse gas emissions. It also diminishes the volume of glass bottles by 80%,reducing the space required to store used bottles and disposal costs. system called AIM, which enables training and testing to be conducted on-line. A manager can initiate training with an email and a pre-training test.
